What care here looks like

A more complete picture

Your history, symptoms, medications, and previous laboratory work are reviewed together and in context — before anything is recommended.

A plan built around function

Strength, energy, nutrition, and daily capacity are treated as outcomes that matter, not as details to sort out later.

One clinician, over time

The same nurse practitioner reviews your results, adjusts your plan, and answers your questions at every visit.

How Care Begins

A clear starting point

Every patient follows the same opening sequence. What happens after it is individual.

01

Introductory call

Twenty minutes to discuss what you are experiencing, explain how the practice works, and decide together whether it makes sense to continue.

02

Comprehensive assessment

Before your first appointment you complete a detailed written assessment covering symptoms, history, medications, nutrition, movement, and goals. It is reviewed in advance, so the visit begins with substance rather than paperwork.

03

Initial evaluation

A ninety-minute video visit to work through your history and previous laboratory results together, identify what is worth pursuing, and agree on priorities.

04

Your plan, then ongoing care

You receive a written plan with clear priorities and next steps. Follow-up frequency is determined by your clinical needs and applicable standards of care — typically more frequent early in treatment, less frequent as things stabilize.

Philosophy
A new practice has no reviews to show you. It can still tell you exactly how it thinks.

Function before weight

Weight is one measurement among many. Strength, energy, sleep, and what you can do in a day are the outcomes that shape daily life, and they are tracked accordingly.

Medication is one tool

GLP-1 medications are prescribed when clinically appropriate. They are part of a broader plan, never the whole of it, and never a substitute for assessment.

Assessment before treatment

A thorough review comes first. Treating before understanding tends to produce short-lived results and unanswered questions.

Accountability without shame

Honest conversations about what is and is not working, held without judgment. Shame is not a clinical tool.

The Practitioner

Bernadette Spencer, RN, MSN, FNP-C, FMACP

Board-certified family nurse practitioner, licensed in New York State.

I have practiced in corrections medicine, skilled nursing, and hospital settings — environments where patients arrive with long histories, several conditions at once, and a record that nobody has read end to end. That work shaped how I practice now: read everything first, ask about function, and say plainly what is known and what is not.

Raven exists to give thyroid and metabolic concerns the time they need. One clinician, a full evaluation, and continuity long enough to see whether a plan is actually working.
